The Community Legal Information Association of P.E.I., Inc. (CLIA) offers various services including a toll-free legal information line, a legal information resource centre, a lawyer referral service, and free resources and publications about the law and the justice system, available online and in paper copies. CLIA staff research and publish plain language legal information, act as a resource for individuals and groups, refer people to other services as needed and provide speakers for meetings, schools, and events throughout P.E.I. CLIA also organizes legal workshops and plans special education projects.

The Child Support Guidelines Office provides information on the Child Support Guidelines and helps people who represent themselves complete the required court documentation when they apply for child support for the first time or want to change an existing child support order. The office attends court hearings with clients and drafts court orders. When the parties agree on the amount of child support, the office can assist the parties by drafting a consent order for them; in such cases, the parties do not have to go to court. In addition, in cases when one parent lives on PEI and the other parent lives in another province or territory in Canada or the US (or in other select countries), the office can provide information for interjurisdictional support orders (ISO) cases and reviews form-based applications going to courts out of province. Child Support Guidelines Office staff do not represent either parent and do not provide legal advice.

Positive Parenting from Two Homes is a voluntary education program of the Parent Education program for parents who are separating or divorcing and parenting from two homes. The program is delivered in two three-hour sessions approximately one week apart. Trained facilitators provide information, present videos, aid discussion and answer questions to help separated parents understand their feelings and their children’s needs, and to help parents develop a business-like relationship with the other parent. During the program, parents are introduced to parenting agreements. The program emphasises the importance of complying with an order or agreement once arrangements for the children have been agreed to / decided upon.
